When Stephen Sparrow set out to create Snow Leopard Vodka, he knew it had to be a vodka of rare character, just like its name sake. That's why he chose to use luxury spelt grain, an ancient super grain five times more expensive than wheat and rye, commonly used to make vodka. Spelt is what gives Snow Leopard its distinctive nutty taste and creamy texture and makes it perfect for a classic martini. Better still, each bottle sold helps to support snow leopard conservation.

Master Distiller creates Vodka of Rare Character

At Snow Leopard Vodka we pride ourselves on making our spirit with only the finest ingredients. A passion shared by our Master Distiller Joanna Dawidowicz.

Polish born Joanna cut her teeth at the legendary Polish distillery Polmos Lublin, founded in 1906, which was to become the birthplace of Snow Leopard Vodka. Using rare Spelt grain grown locally Dawidowicz used her 30 years of expertise to create the luxury vodka that we know today.

A keen mathematician and physicist, Joanna studied Technology at the University of Lublin in her hometown. Upon seeing an opening at her local distillery she decided to try her hand at the art of spirit making. It was a move that, luckily for us, she excelled at and went on to create a number of award-winning concoctions.

To create Snow Leopard Vodka Joanna worked with the best ingredients – rare spelt grain and pure spring water, combining the two in a complex 6-stage distillation and filtering process, to achieve the distinctive nutty taste and smooth finish. Working with the rare spelt grain was a new challenge but Joanna’s expertise has produced a spirit of rare character, just like its namesake.
