THE SINGLETON OF DUFFTOWN 12 YEAR OLD SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY
The Singleton of Dufftown is distilled in the Dufftown distillery in Speyside, the heart of malt whisky production in Scotland. Whisky has been distilled at the distillery since 1896 and from fermentation to distillation we do our utmost best to ensure every drop of spirit is the highest quality. The Singleton of Dufftown has an aroma of toasted nuts with rich fruits, with hints of blackcurrant, brown sugar and coffee on the palate – before an elegantly drying and crisp finish. The Singleton of Dufftown 12 Year Old has the flavour profile for new drinkers to malt whisky due to its smooth, rich, accessible flavour.
Serving Suggestion: Best served neat to savour the full, rich fruit and vanilla notes.
TASTING NOTES
APPEARANCE : Rich amber, polished mahogany highlights.
BODY : Medium to full bodied.
NOSE : Fruity-floral at first - flowering currant, a hint of blackcurrant - with some ash or char in the background (scorched brown toast?) and after a while a trace of damp linen. Water brings up cereal notes (principally maize), and some meaty aromas. The development is towards scorched paper - fragile and no off-notes.
PALATE : Sweetness and crunchy nuts impress at first, then there’s a smooth, fruity Speyside richness to enjoy. Firm, with a balancing sweetness. Brown sugar and espresso coffee. Warming and pleasant. With water, still a pleasant texture. Light sweetness, then chewy and balanced by light acidity, with a good spread of flavours mid-palate.
FINISH : Medium to long, elegantly drying and crisp, completed by a pleasant, sweetly nutty chew-ability.
