Vintage / Harvest description
The 2012 growing season lasted 172 days and, in general, it was marked by drought. However, rain falling at the end of September had a great effect, leading to a full and complete ripening process with the grapes therefore achieving better balance.
The excellent health of the grapes led to the elaboration of wines which are perfect for ageing in barrel, and the warm weather led to them being very Mediterranean, aromatic and fruity in style.
The harvest for Imperial started on the 27th September, finished on the 9th October and was slow and selective.
