Talisker 25 Year Old

Aged for 25 years in a mixture of refill European butts and American oak hogsheads, this 2018 edition maintains the high standards expected from this flagship bottling.

As one would anticipate for a whisky of this age, Talisker 25 possesses tonnes of complexity, a wonderful body and great depth.

This whisky serves up notes of sea spray, thick peppery peat, white pepper, delicate peach and apricot notes, dignified old oak, toffee, chocolate, a little leather, vanilla, caramelized apples, a little smoked bacon, cedarwood and some honeyed malt.

Bottled at 45.8% ABV, this whisky manages to balance Talisker’s smoky, maritime style perfectly with fruity highlands and dense oakiness.

Carefully balancing the distillery's seaside, salt and pepper character against elegant oak and delicate fruity notes, it's a masterclass in ageing with a delightfully old-fashioned air.

Tasting note: Bright gold. Brine and pepper lift gives way to peach and vanilla followed by hints of liquorice and smouldering cedar wood. Exposure emphasises the ripe orchard fruit aspect. Semi sweet and briny in the mouth with an oily peat and fruit fusion. Finish turns beeswaxy, mildly peppery, (Fisherman's Friend lozenge) and beautifully rounded off by sooty, creamy peat.
