ANTONOPOULOS MERLOT DRY RED WINE

The wine has a deep red colour, with aromas of cherries and berries. This medium-bodied wine has an excellent tannin structure giving it the proper balance and a very pleasant finish of red fruits and vanilla.

Serve at 180C with pasta served with bacon, chilly in tomato sauce, pork with beans, veal and curry dishes, as well as cooked lamb or schnitzel.

Under proper storage conditions this wine can be aged and enjoyed for up to 8 years.

Grape Varieties: 100% Merlot

Vineyards

The vineyards are located in the Vasiliko region of Achaia in the Peloponnese at an altitude of 150m. The soil is a mixture of sandy clay and limestone and the grape yields are about 9000kg per hectare.

Wine Making

Red wine vinification containing long skin contact and stainless steel tank fermentation at no more than 19 0C. The wine remains in 225lt oak barrels 3rd use for 6-8 months.
