Cabernet Sauvignon Red Dry Regional Wine of Atalanti Valley

The very first label of Domaine Hatzimichalis. Cabernet Sauvignon stunned the Greek wine industry around the 70’s and 80’s. Previously, the variety was not known to thrive in Greece until Domaine Hatzimichalis led the way and introduced this grape variety in the market. Within the next decade, this label among others were being recognized globally, earning a number of international awards. Having kept the same label, we continue almost 50 years after to produce the same high quality Cabernet Sauvignon.

Variety: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon

The first international variety planted in Domaine Hatzimichalis winery in Atalanti Valley.

Tasting notes: Bright and deep red colour. Elegant bouquet of concentrated aromas of black fruits like blackcurrants, along with nuances of sweet spices . An intense, well-structured Cabernet Sauvignon with bold tannins, concentrated flavors and persistent finish. An exquisite combination of strength, complexity and elegance.

Food pairings – Serving temperature: Ideally suited to lamb, spare ribs, grilled steak, game and flavorful hard cheeses. Best served a 16-18 °C.

Ageing potential: Recommended for long ageing. You can drink now or keep it for at least 10-15 years.

Origin: From selected vineyards of the private owned vineyard of Domaine Hatzimichalis in Atalanti Valley, Central Greece.

Vinification: Classic red vinification under controlled temperature. It ages for 12 months in a mix of new and used French oak barrels.
