PROTECTED GEOGRAPHIC INDICATION PANGEON
Plagios Red is a regional expression of carefully selected grapes of the French Merlot variety subjected to the microclimate of Pangeon. It is vinified in a conventional manner with an extended maceration period. It has undergone malolactic fermentation following which it matured for 16 months in new French oak barrels. This full-bodied, dry red wine has a dense mahogany red colour.
Serve cellar cool at 16-18°C or age for up to 10 years easily.
Flavour : Rich, with generous, robust tannins, very good structure and intensely fruity, long finish.
Serve at 16-18°C.
Nose : Aromas of red fruit (plums and wild cherries), alternating harmoniously with notes of cedar, spices, vanilla, dark chocolate and nutmeg.
Food pairing : Roasted meats and meat casseroles with spicy sauces, bottom round roast and high-fat cheeses.
