Miguel Torres Manso de Velasco 13.5%alc., Still, Dry. Red Wine, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, Vegan, DO Curico Valley, Andes, Chile - Miguel Torres
Miguel Torres Natureo Red Syrah
A tribute to Manso de Velasco, Governor of Chile during the colonial period. A brave, enterprising man, known for his strength on the battlefield, and founder of the city of Curicó, where these vines grow. The Finca Manso de Velsaco estate is exclusively given over to Cabernet Sauvignon, which produces this intense, deep-colored wine. This wine is made using only grapes from vines that are over 115 years old. Its 2006 harvest was chosen as Chile’s Best Cabernet Sauvignon by Descorchados, Patricio Tapia’s wine guide.
TYPE OF WINE: Red
D.O.: Curicó Valley, Andes

Tasting Note
Intense dark ruby color. Exquisite aroma with the classic notes of small black and red fruits. Herbal nuances such as lemon verbena and bay leaf. Palate of great elegance, with enveloping and soft tannins, long fruity and spicy accords that are complemented towards the end with fine notes of wood.

Terroir
Soil
The soil has a loamy/sandy texture with a high percentage of different sized pebbles, indicating that surface water once flowed very close by.
It has a moderately acidic pH with low organic matter content, making it soil with low fertility.
In the deep, slightly rocky and sandy soils, the hundred-year-old Cabernet Sauvignon vinestocks produce limited quantities of grapes that show the typical characteristics of the variety.
Climate
The area has a warm, sub-humid climate, with very cold nights, according to its bioclimatic indices. The influence of the Andes can be felt at night, when the temperature drops close to freezing point.
