GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Cask Strength (50ml)

The third batch of cask strength whisky from GlenAllachie distillery. This latest special release has been matured for 10 years in a combination of first and second-fill bourbon, PX puncheon, Oloroso hogsheads and virgin oak casks. GlenAllachie cask strength batch 3, bottled at 58.2% vol, dark chocolate, heather honey, sweet spices and orange peel.

Billy Walker spends endless amounts of time in the GlenAllachie warehouses sampling across our range of casks, with over 40,000 on site it’s not a job for the faint hearted. However, it’s certainly time well spent when the results of his endeavours are tasted.

After sampling this vast range of casks Billy was keen to showcase GlenAllachie bottled at natural strength. We are delighted to introduce the GlenAllachie 10 year old Cask Strength Batch 3 – a limited edition product bottled with only 3,500 cases available worldwide.

The alcohol in this GlenAllachie is fairly sharp and the (virgin) woody side makes it a tad aggressive. The GlenAllachie 10 is still my recommendation if you’re interested in trying the new range from this distillery.

TASTING NOTES

COLOUR: Rich Mahogany.

NOSE: A big experience of dark chocolate, raisins and heather honey, with layers of sweet spice and orange peel.

TASTE: Rich notes of dark chocolate, raisins, treacle and heather honey, with sweet spices, orange peel and hints of eucalyptus.
