Malagousia - Sauvignon Blanc - Moschofilero

CHARACTERISTICS:

Light green-yellow colour. Fresh and lively aromatic character with predominant aromas of citrus fruits, rose petals, peach and exotic fruits. It has a pleasant acidity, full body and flavor, with a soft aftertaste of herbs.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS:

It is an excellent choice for seafood, grilled fish and fried appetisers while being a pleasing accompaniment to salads and pasta. It is also delicious in combination with the lemon-cooked dishes of Greek cuisine.

LOCATION:

Asprokampos (Malagousia, Sauvignon Blanc): Vineyard at an altitude of 800 m, on the Stymfalia plateau, using the LYRE vine training system

Mantineia (Moschofilero): Vineyards in mountainous Arcadia with a low yield per hectare

VINIFICATION:

Vinification takes place separately for each variety. After careful sorting of the grapes in both the vineyard and the winery, pre-fermentation cold extraction occurs for a few hours, with light pressing of the grapes to extract only the first juice. The fermentation temperature ranges from 16°-18°C and is completed after a period of about 15 days.

ORIGIN:

Mantineia (Moschofilero): Vineyards in the area of mountainous Egialia which has a temperate Mediterranean climate, with cold but relatively mild and wet winters and hot dry summers with occasional rainfall (mainly local downpours).

Asprokampos (Sauvignon Blanc, Malagousia): Vineyards in mountainous Arcadia with a low yield per hectare, in deep, clayey, alkaline soils, with ample calcium carbonate. The climate of the area is characterised by cold winters, with plenty of rain and snow, cool springs, and dry summers with high temperatures during the day and cool nights.

Harvest: Early October.dry summer, with higher temperatures during the day and cooler in the evenings.
