Our Story

Our story began 100 years ago, when our uncle, Andreas Polentas, placed his first beehives in the unspoiled mountainous region of Askifou Sfakia, Crete. Our father Stavros Glyniadakis, continued the family tradition, and as the years went by, we built great expertise and developed expert reputation in the field of beekeeping.

Today our strong bond with the Cretan nature and our solid relationships with our partners build the fundamentals of our philosophy.

We work together with passionate, artisan beekeepers on the island of Crete, and provide them with our deep knowledge and skills. We carefully monitor and take care of every step: from the bee hive to the jar. We retain the traditional practices and treat bees with respect. Beehives are placed in the natural environment of the mountainous Crete and bees forage on the purple blossoms of the Cretan thyme. We harvest, inspect, and bottle only the very best. We are fully certified in quality and safety to ensure that Apicreta Thyme Honey is free of antibiotics, additives, preservatives, and GMOs.
