Cavalieri LAZARIDI refers to the title of Cavaliere that has been awarded to Nico Lazaridi’s family members, in recognition of their contribution to the Italian Republic.

Our latest creation is an excellent blend of the famous varieties of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon , Merlot and Sangiovese coming from selected low yield vine-plots of our own vineyards at the local communities of Agora and Pigadia in Drama region.

Tasting Notes: It features a deep purple colour and intense aromas of red berries, cedar and nuts with hints of herbs. It has a charming body with balanced acidity and soft tannins. Its finish is long, massy and complex.

Aging: Will respond well to aging for up to 6-8 years after harvest.

Perfect Pairing: Served at 18-20◦C. An excellent match for aged cheeses, grilled meat, red meat and game cooked dishes with complex sauces.

Type of wine: Dry red wine.

Appellation: Protected Geographical Indication Drama.

Varieties: Sangiovese 35%, Cabernet Franc 30%, Cabernet Sauvignon 20 %, Merlot 15 %.

Production Area: From selected low yield vineyards in northern Greece- Macedonia, at the local communities of Agora and Pigadia.

Vinification Tecniques: Each variety follows separate fermentation in stainless steel tanks, at low temperature for one week. The vinification starts with Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and then we add Sangiovese. The whole procedure takes around 15 days and is followed by the malolactic fermentation. The wine ages in new or second used oak barrels for 12 months.
