These tender leaves of grape vines are ideal for stuffing with rice, chopped onion, and fresh herbs to make Dolmadakia, one of Greece’s most popular specialties.
FROM THE SUNNY ISLAND OF CRETE During April and May we hand pick the most tender grape leaves of Sultana grape from the family vineyards in the region of Heraklion, Crete. The excellent microclimate of the region and the soil are ideal for the cultivation of the famous Sultana grape.
HIGH QUALITY We carefully select whole leaves, free of damage, from vines that have not been sprayed with pesticides. Our vine leaves have a light green color and a supple texture. We collect the best picks at the top of the plant and close to the fruit.
TRADITIONAL RECIPE After harvest, we blanch and preserve our vine leaves in brine according to the traditional Cretan recipe. For you to enjoy tender and tasty vine leaves all year round.
PERFECT FOR A VEGETARIAN DIET Loaded with vitamins, antioxidants, iron, calcium and magnesium, our vine leaves are ideal for a vegan or vegetarian diet.
READY TO USE Our vine leaves are ready to use. No need for blanching. Just rinse well under warm water and they are ready for your recipe. Each jar contains approximately 70-80 pieces.
Our deliciously tangy and tender brined vine leaves inspire for a wide array of dishes:
- Make traditional Greek Dolmades with rice or minced meat
- Stuff with kinoa, chopped onion and fresh herbs
- Wrap feta or goat cheese, add paprika or herbs and bake
- Wrap fish fillet, fresh onion and grill
- Prepare a lamb fricassee
- Garnish cheese or cured fish platters
