Matcha powder comes from the green leaves of the Camellia Sinensis plant, which are dried and then slowly ground between granite rocks until they become powdery. Thus, a very delicate tea powder with a vivid green color and a slightly sweet, rich but gentle taste is attributed.

Matcha is finely ground green tea leaf powder and is the most prized amongst Japanese teas. It has been drunk as part of the tea ceremony for 900 years as well as by Buddhist monks during long days of meditation.
