Golden Trumpet | White Dry Preknadi Malagouzia (2022) 750ml | Kotoulas Wines
Golden Trumpet Varietal White Wine, 12.5% alc., Dry Wine, Preknadi, Malagouzia - Kotoulas Wines
Made from Preknadi, an almost extinct local grape in Naoussa, along with indigenous Malagouzia grape from the region of Elassona Northern Greece, Golden Trumpet by Kotoulas Wines is a small production wine. The 2020 release is limited to just 2,000 bottles.
Like the music notes of a Golden Trumpet, the grape varieties Prekniariko and Malagouzia harmoniously mingle together and reveal a palette of lemon blossom, citrus, pineapple and honey.
TASTING NOTES: Golden Trumpet is a white wine with a pale straw color and glints of green. On the nose it gives fruity and floral aromas of citrus, tropical fruits and lemon blossoms. Well-balanced, soft and fresh, all tied up with an explosive finish.
FOOD PAIRING: This fruity aromatic white wine pairs beautifully with grilled fish, seafood risotto and steamed mussels with herbs. It is delicious with summer tomato salads. It goes well with a carbonara pasta, a creamy vegetable risotto, or a lemony lamb fricassee. It's also great as an aperitif on a sunny day!
SERVING TIPS: Serve chilled at 10-12 °C in white wine glass.
WINEMAKING: Grapes are carefully selected and hand-picked. They are rigorously sorted at the winery, to ensure that only ripe and healthy fruit goes into the destemmer. During white vinification, pre-ferment cold maceration takes place followed by alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature of 15-17 °C. Once fermentation is complete, fine lees are periodically stirred for 3 months.
