Reserva de la Familia® Platino is an unaged tequila with perfect balance and unmatched smoothness. Cuervo’s unique “Esencia de Agave” production method ensures the pure agave notes from the piñas, or hearts of the agave plants, come through intensely in aroma and flavor.

Reserva de la Familia® Platino evokes pepper, honeyed agave on the nose with a hint of apple and parsley. It is sweet and spicy on the palate with notes of pepper, honey, melon, and hay. It has a medium and crisp finish with notes of chamomile and cinnamon. Enjoy this unique expression on the rocks (40% ABV-80 proof). Where It Begins

The process of crafting such a luxury tequila begins around a full decade before the liquid ever reaches your glass, with the planting of 100% blue agave in the estate’s richest volcanic soils.

Careful Selection

Made using only the flavorful inner portion of hand-selected blue agave plants. The agave cooks at distillery La Rojeña for 48 hours total – 36 hours through direct vapor and then 12 more hours with just its own heat.

Artist Collaborations

As part of our ongoing support of Mexican culture, the Jose Cuervo family also commissions a Mexico-based artist to design original artwork for the collectors box each year.

Jorge Pardo was selected as this year’s artist collaborator for his legacy of blending the principles of fine art and design to create contemporary paintings, sculptures, installations and architecture. The artwork tells the story of jimadors working in the agave fields. Within the designs, ‘coas de jima’, which translates to hoes for harvesting, are reflected prominently to explore the experience of farmers and how they know what agave to select in order to produce the best tequila.

Hand Packaged

The art of tequila making extends to Reserva de la Familia’s packaging, with meticulous care given to each and every bottle. The entire packaging process, from the application of the unique label design, to the wax seal featuring the Cuervo family crest, is done by hand.
