Glengoyne 12 Year Old

Lemon zest, toffee apples – and a scent of coconut. Hand-selected sherry casks help create this paradise of flavours and rich, golden colour. It’s the taste of Scotland’s slowest distillation, and our insistence on barley dried by air – never peat.

ALCOHOL: 43%

APPEARANCE: Natural, rich gold

NOSE: Coconut oil, honey, lemon zest, dried oak

PALATE: Toffee apples, cinnamon spice, ginger, orange, shortbread

FINISH: A hint of sherry and soft oak. Very well balanced

Glengoyne Legacy Series Chapter Two

The second bottling in our Legacy Series follows on from Chapter One and 1869, when Cochrane Cartwright made innovations that define Glengoyne to this day. First, he slowed our distillation process down, helping to make it the most unhurried in Scotland. Then he introduced all-important sherry casks in which to mature our spirit. 134 years later the next chapter in our story unfolded when Peter Russell and his family fulfilled their dream of having their very own distillery and became custodians of Glengoyne. Shielding us from the changing winds of fashion, the Russells have helped us stick resolutely to Cartwright’s original vision. We call it the Glengoyne Way. Investing in the crafting and preparation of purpose made casks and enabling the exploration different maturation processes, Peter and his family have helped ensure Glengoyne flourished, remaining the one-of-a-kind dram cherished by whisky lovers worldwide.

Chapter Two in our Legacy Series marries spirits matured in two distinct cask types – first fill bourbon and refill sherry barrels. Every drop embodies Peter’s combination of forward-thinking and respect for tradition.

ABV: 48%Vol

COLOUR: Bright gold

NOSE : Full of vanilla and banana, maple syrup, peaches, coconut, fruit-soaked trifle sponge, hint of lime and mint

PALATE : Creamy and well balanced, apple crumble, honey drizzled toast, green grape and gentle spice.

Glengoyne 18 Year Old

Spicy vanilla fruit, ripe apples and a rich, luxurious mouthfeel. This is the result of eighteen long years and a generous proportion of first-fill sherry casks.

TASTING NOTES

ALCOHOL : 43%

APPEARANCE : Medium gold with a rich glow.

NOSE : Awash with red apple and ripe melon. Heavenly and well rounded, it drifts into hot porridge topped with brown sugar.

PALATE : Full bodied, round and rich. At first macerated fruits, marzipan and walnuts; then warm spices, dry cocoa and lingering Seville marmalade.

FINISH : Long, warm and dry.

CASK RECIPE : 35% 1st Fill European Oak Sherry.

15% 1st Fill American Oak Sherry, 50% Hand-selected quality Oak Refill casks.
